About Sheilah

Sheilah Roberts Lukins was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland but now lives in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s with her husband. She has no pets at the moment, except for the occasional house mouse and anyone who makes their home in her garden. She has published two non-fiction books, Rain, Drizzle and Fog (Boulder Publications) and For Maids Who Brew and Bake(Flanker Press), nominated in the special interest category of Cuisine Canada's National Culinary Book Awards. Full Speed Ahead was the first book in the Errol’s Adventures series. In Flying Ace: Errol’s Gander Adventure Errol risks his mouse life to save the lives of his human friends, coming to the rescue in a top-secret World War II mission.

Sheilah is the author of two non-fiction books:

  • For Maids Who Brew and Bake: Rare and Excellent Recipes from 17th Century Newfoundland.
  • Rain, Drizzle, and Fog: Newfoundland Weather Stories.
  • A third non-fiction, Bottom’s Up, A History of Alcohol in Newfoundland and Labrador NEW RELEASE DATE - SPRING 2020.

Sheilah’s award winning children’s book series includes:

  • Full Speed Ahead: Errol’s Bell Island Adventure
  • Flying Ace: Errol’s Gander Adventure.
  • Once upon an Iceberg: Errol’s Twillingate Adventure (due for release in 2020)
  • Many more Errol books are in the planning stages.
